Gotland Tourist Association – remit
Briefly, the Gotland Tourist Association’s remit is to coordinate the marketing of Gotland as an attractive destination for visitors, to act on behalf of the travel and tourist industry in its dealings with various authorities and organisations, to run a tourist office in Visby all year round, and to make available all relevant information on the visiting industry.

How the remit is formulated in the GTA’s by-laws:
The Gotland Tourist Association shall
• act as a coordinating body for the travel and tourist industry and act as its representative in dealings with authorities and organisations locally, nationally and internationally;
• assume responsibility for the marketing of the travel and tourist industry towards all residents of Gotland and act as a forum for a dialogue between all branches of industry in any way associated with the travel and tourist industry;
• assume responsibility for the coordination, development and evaluation of joint external marketing initiatives;
• coordinate and assume responsibility for tourist information;
• continuously follow up, evaluate and make available information on customer needs and target groups;
• develop, follow up and report on objectives and business ratios;
• identify, initiate and coordinate opportunities for achieving greater accessibility;
• initiate, stimulate and coordinate needs for further development and training within the travel and tourist industry;
• initiate, stimulate and coordinate product development on the basis of known customer requirements.
