However, the Middle Ages don’t just come to Gotland in Medieval Week. You can experience medieval tournaments throughout the summer. See the knights jousting to win the maiden’s favour! You’ll find more information about this in our Events Calendar.
Did you know there are still Vikings on Gotland – at least in Vikingabyn. Shoot arrows, make mats, throw axes or play traditional Gotland games – these are just a few of the things you can try in Vikingabyn.
What was it like to be a child on 17th century Gotland? At the Bunge Museum you can see historical houses, and try traditional games. Challenge Mum and Dad in the tangling game called ‘rövkrok’!
Stroke the sheep and enjoy a snack at the cosy café at Bottarvegården, a traditional Gotland farm that shows you what farms were like in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Did you know there are trains on Gotland? In the summer you can actually ride on a steam train from Hesselby station in Dalhem. Read more about the Gotland Railway Museum.

Roma Kungsgård has activities all year round. Viking camps, princess school and knighting are just a few of the activities.
Pedal cars for the younger children and go-carts for the older ones are available at the Gotland Veteran Car Museum. And don’t miss the chance to see the fine veteran cars.
